If I actually got around to making even just a third of the blog posts that I think about making (and often start drafting in my head as I fall asleep), this blog would be as big as a book already. But I don't and this isn't one I planned either. This is another problem.
DH was off yesterday on comp time. But it was the boss's call, not his. So he was usingt he day productively for a few things, including moving the horses back to the home pasture to give the summer grass a rest.
Around 5, when we are starting dinner, I go out to check the mail box. I'd been asleep when the mail should have come and he was out. There is a letter from our gas company.
Ut-oh. The station where DH had tanked on Monday had a problem--they got gas and diesel mixed up, so it wasn't pure diesel that he filled our diesel car up with. We were to call them, which he did right away. So they are going to pay to have the tank emptied AND for a loaner car in the process, because there is no way we can manage without a car.
We tried to get a hold of the Suzuki workshop yesterday, but it was too late. DH went to work this morning, hoping the car would cope okay, with their number in his pocket. He was able to call and schedule the service okay, but they say DO NOT DRIVE so he has to get it towed.
Well, since I got the car, I'd had a subscription to the Danish road service company Falck, which is sorta like AAA in the US but without the maps and travel rebates. We have the card in the car and everything. So DH calls to get it towed.
They tell him we don't have a subscription to them. It turns out that our insurance company had cancelled it at some point. AAARGH! So he calls and gets me up to try to work something out. We never asked for it to be cancelled. If we had, we wouldn't still be driving around with the info stuck to the passenger visor, now would we?
So it took a while but I got through to the insurance company. It took even longer to get through it all. They had trouble believing we wouldn't have noticed, but I had a package of emergency supplies from my original subscription with my old insurance company that was free with them. So it turns out the bills I've been getting ONLY cover having that pack. Silly me thought I had just gotten a VERY nice rebate through the insurance company. AARGH!
Anyway, the insurance company has apparently admitted the error is theirs, because he's to call and get the car towed and send them the bill. So now he just has to work out coordinating everythig. He can get a rid ehome with a coworker, so will suggest the mechanic just brings the loaner here and leaves it with me.
I need a break now. All that stress before I have tea is just too much for me.
